WE ARE ACCEPTING NEW STUDENTS FOR: Academic Year 2019-2020: September 3 2019 - June 29, 2020 Scroll down for specific dates -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LESSONS Private piano lessons include piano technique, scales, exercises, solo pieces, ensembles and duets, sight-reading, elementary theory, composition and improvisation. Textbooks and sheet music will be provided by the studio. Scores should be returned to the studio at the end of the semester/year. All of the offered techniques provide an enthusiastic atmosphere for students to achieve, believe and enjoy themselves. Length of Lessons Each student is unique and lessons may vary from 45 minutes to 1 hour. Lesson durations will be determined with the student and Marina, depending on level, interest and availability. Who can take lessons? All of the lessons offered at Marina's Piano Studio offer intensive training for the aspiring piano student. We invite any student ages 6 and up, as well as adults with or without a musical background. Professional musicians who would like to refine their skills are always welcome. ................................................................................................................................................. POLICIES/TUITION TUITION Tuition includes a monthly rate plus the annual registration fee ($50) for new & returning students. Tuition reserves student's lesson time and is non-refundable. Occasionally, extra lessons serve to make up for an occasional student's absence or holiday. All payments must be made by cash or check at the beginning of the first lesson of each month. For tuition rates, please contact the studio. LATE/MISSED PAYMENTS Tuition is non-refundable and student's lessons will be interrupted if accounts fall behind in payment. ATTENDANCE Good attendance is imperative to a musician's progress, as we operate on a time schedule. Please arrive on time, which means arriving a few minutes before the scheduled lesson. To rearrange the schedule and accommodate changes are difficult and not guaranteed. Clean hands and trimmed fingernails are the etiquette of a pianist. We only allow 2 make-ups per semester - in case of illness or family emergency only. Students must notify the studio ahead of time. Please keep in mind that even when schools are on a break, the studio is still open and running on current attendace/policies. PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES Our students take advantage of playing their programs in front of an audience to showcase their skills and talents. Many of the students, especially the youngsters, enjoy playing their own compositions as well. Our annual recital is held at Faust Harrison Pianos in Midtown Manhattan.
